Beemo8bit - I was told military typically uses Matte finishes so if you are going for the older halo military looks I'd go there. Newer Halos are a little shinier so you could step up to Satin, but I would not do any of the Glosses.

Loving your work Sean Anwalt ! (maybe don't heat gun those cutouts anymore? lol. They end up shrinking. like on the thigh and bicep. The purpose of the heat gun is to seal it without eating up all your paint. But you can just paint like a FlexSeal onto those little spots that you don't want to deform from the heat gun..) Keep at it brother!

The trick to heat gunning is a feather touch. Just wait for it to gloss up and change texture. It shouldn't even take two seconds on an area to be done.

Prolonged heat is good for shaping but bad for melting foamies.

You know, the internet is a terrible place. You see SO many disgusting things.

...Things that should never have seen the light of day.

(The helmet needs work, don't judge me)
...Things that would make normal healthy people hurl...

... things meant only for late at night behind double- locked doors...

Haven't even bothered to paint the belt. My gosh, what's next?

It can't be that bad, I've seen some things on the internet.

 Guess I'm a normal people.

Dude, all joking aside it's looking really good. Once you get some paint down, a visor in and a quick neck seal you're pretty much there for the costume.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

Looking good

Thanks, guys!

The helmet has had the bottom...layer? I guess? removed so I can finish it and make it better. That's why you can see so much head and chin(s) underneath! Haha.

Paint wise I'm kind of holding off for a bit until I get more paint and some masking tape.

I'm having problems with the chest front and backpack meshing together. One of the many reasons I want to build another. Also why I stopped detailing it.

Lol, actually the helmet without the visor in it looks really cool, like it could be some variant or spec-ops version of the Marine helmet.

Mine is a boot cover, one piece. Sets on top of an army boot unattached and then I put my foot into it. Probably not the best design.

Thom A293 's boot is connected by a piece of foam on the bottom, so he is actually walking with foam soles. Probably not the safest design.

Let's see what TurboCharizard does. lol

You pictures are looking great! Keep it up.

How do you guys have your shoes attached? Like, the toe to the heel? I know what it's supposed to look like, but I'm having problems figuring out how I'm gonna get mine to work.

Mine is all on one large plywood platform to make it more action-figure scale which means it's a solid connection throughout. Mine might not be the best reference for your build. Either way, link for the curious.

From the depths of the memes that is my build thread.
