I will be on later today, around 6-7pm EST so if anybody wants to play some funny customs, hit me up. :) I normally just forge a lot so maybe if enough people come on, we can test out some of my maps! :D

Tournament bracket has been posted:
http://challonge.com/images/brackets/HaloCommunity.png

There are 31 teams total, with one team (2old2play) getting a bye.
We will be playing Master Theory.

I'm gonna try to be on at least for a bit every night this week, I'll only be interested in map layouts if I'm playing by myself or Teamwork if we play as a party. We've got a lot of work to do!

yea we need alot of practices ill be on later today to work on my skill with the DMR. I cant shot for crap with that thing :p
if anyone eles what to practices message me on Xbox live

Once I get some of this school work finished Ill be on nearly the whole day. I'm going to go to each and every map on slayer to try and find weapon placements. Maybe try and map it out or something.

That would be very helpful! I did a ton of searching this morning and could not find any current map layouts. I have the Legendary Halo Reach guide book, but as Spase noted that contains all of the launch (or pre-launch even) weapons and placements.

Another good idea may be to go back through the games in Theater, especially those ones where we'd suddenly be facing 2 snipers, rockets and a laser. Just watch the film until the power weapons came out and backtrack until you find where they spawn.

Thats true, theater mode is a great resource. The only thing I'll need is a birds eye view of the entire map, I believe Bungie.net has some good ones but right now the sites down, at least for me it is.

ok cool, master theory has some really high ranks on their team
btw what it the 405th assault battalion?

Those looks great Ruze, although Zealot isn't one I'll be able to work with since it can only show the top layer. In around 30 minutes I will get to work marking areas, someone should also come up with call signs for specific areas incase objective games are brought up.

I'm calling an unofficial 'For serious people who want to work on strategies and teamwork so that we don't lose in the first bracket and are ACTUALLY going to practice' meeting today at 5PST/6MST/7EST (Same time as the previous meetings), same time on wednesday, and friday as well.
These aren't manditory, but Mitch is right, we need to actually PRACTICE as a group.

Don't know if you notice/know this or not, but Bungie has done all the work for us by actually implementing call-outs for all specific map areas. If you look near your radar (if I remember correctly), there will be small text with where you presently are, that changes automatically when you move to a new area. (Of course, I suppose this doesn't help too much unless everyone has the names of the areas memorized).

Good luck guys, make the 405th proud! I really wish I could participate and help out. I have an ominous feeling that other communities will be fielding chosen squads of their most experienced, competitive players, and not just a call out for volunteers. But at least we are represented! :cool

TOURNAMENT UPDATE
05/23/2011

I am clarifying this at the moment, but it looks as a result of the response from the 31 community entered, that we will only be playing as one group of 6 players at a time in the tournament. We will still be submitting a roster of 18 possible players. We can field 6 players per game, and possibly rotate out between games in a best of 3 series between opponents. So, much like a sports team in the playoffs, you bring out the big guns and substitute players if and when needed. I am currently awaiting clarification on whether or not they are requiring that we utilize all 18 players or simply have an 18 player pool from which we can field a team of 6 for each specific game. If it is as I assume it will be, this means, that it may be possible to be on the tournament roster, and not see much, if any, playtime throughout the tournament.

Spase I updated the first post with members you listed as having attended each meeting.

From what was posted I interpreted it as you could have 18 players available to you but play only 6 or 10 or whatever if you wanted. If you're allowed 6-18 players I think it's up to you how they're used, as long as they've all been listed in the roster. Of course clarification will be best but that is how I read it.
